TAIHAPE DAIRY COMPANY
MERGER REJECTED. By 245 votes to 5. shareholders of the Taihape Co-operative Dairy Company have rejected a proposal to amalgamate with the Rata Co-operative Dairy Company. The motion for amalgamation was sponsored by two Mangawek? farmers, Messrs A. Ross and P. J. Murphy. Mr Ross said he had supplied Rata before the zoning imposed by the commission under Sir Francis Frazer had macle him supply Taihape. He wsa losing £26 a year as a resulof the change, and he though that toebig a sacrifice to make. Sir Francis. he said, was agreeable to those suppliers who were losing going back to Rata. Mr Murphy said nis loss because of having to supply Taihape was £29 a year.
