The Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, paying a tribute to the Colonial Sugar Refining Company's war effort, said the company had borne the whole cost £67,000. of the annexe to its Sydney works for making shell bodies. In addition it was bearing the whose cost, estimated at £132.000, of the production of 18-pounder shells in fulfilment of an order obtained from the Munitions Department.
