Recruiting for overseas service Is to be temporarily suspended in Australia, when enlistments reach 80,000. The Prime Minister, in making this announcement tonight, said that already there were 70.000 men in the camps. The interruption of recruiting for the A.1.F., he added, was due _to the greatly changed European situation and the necessity of building home defence forces up to 250.000. and this task will be proceeded with before the formation of additional A.I.F. units for overseas is undertaken.
