SOUTH FEATHERSTON
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Home and School Association, .Mrs Clark presided over a good attendance of members. 1 Each member brought a parcel containing clothes for refugees. There were also 14 balaclavas knitted and handed in to the Red Cross. The competition for the best worked tea towel resulted: —Mrs H. R. Burt 1. Mrs Graham 2. and Mesdames George and Sorensen 3. The hostesses were Mesdames Tompson, Sorensen and G. Burt. MINIATURE RIFLES WEEKLY COMPETITION. The following were the scores in the weekly competition of the South Featherston Miniature Rifle Club: — Men—A. Gain 98. D. Fenwick 93. Reg. Fenwick 99, K. Fenwick 96, D. Cross 99, M. Fuge 97, J. Saba 78. Ladies—Mrs Thurston 97, Mrs Fenwick 97. Mrs Willis 93'; Mrs Burt 92. Miss N. Tocker 85. Boys.—A. Burt 92. A. Cross 90. Fortnightly cups were won as follow: • —Senior, Mrs Thurston, A. Gain and D. Fenwick; boys, A. Burt. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs Jepson, Ashby Road, are visiting relatives in Wellington and Hastings. Mrs F. Burt has returned home after a short holiday spent in Upper Hutt. Euchre Party and Dance. The fortnightly euchre party and dance held in the South Featherston Hall was well patronised. The prizewinners were: —Ladies. Mrs A. Gain 1. Miss I. Simmonds 2. Men: Mr A. Fuge 1. Mr Rae 2. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mr G. Edwards and Miss O. Gain, and Mr Dick and partner. Mr V. Bull carried out the duties of M.C. Mr V. Boyd supplied the music, extras being played by Mrs A. Gain and Miss M, /Matthews.
