FEATHERSTON
V ' SOLDIERS’ DANCE ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Times- Age” Special.) The soldiers’ dance held in Anzac Hall on Saturday night, under the auspices of the Patriotic Society, was most enjoyable, there being a very large attendance. Much of the success of the gathering was due to the splendid music which was supplied by the Tauherenikau Camp Orchestra, “Featherston’s Own,” and was enjoyed by dancers and lookers on alike. Mr G. Hyland capably carried out the duties of M.C. Miss Card and Mrs Q. Donald, as hostesses, did everything in their power to see that the soldiers thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The supper arrangements were supervised by the ladies of the Tauherenikau district. During the evening Mr J. W. Card, president of the Patriotic Society, made presentations to Telegraphist John Raper, R.N.V.R., and Aircraftsman Ray Benton, who were accorded musical honours, after which both the recipients suitably replied.
