GOLD MINING
COMPANY RETURNS. The Grey River dredge returned 266 ounces for 127 hours from 87,644 yards for the week ended July 10. Big River Gold Mines Limited report the following gold returns for May and June, 1940: Battery department, 209 tens of ore crushed for 146 oz melted gold. Cyanide department: 150 tons of sands treated for 21oz of bullion. Total estimated value, £1325. In addition, four tons of concentrates were saved valued at £l2O. In estimating the above values, gold has been taken at 160 s a fine ounce.
The Argo Gold Dredging Co., Ltd., announce that a dividend (No. 20) of one penny a share (free of income tax) has been declared on all shares in the ccippany and will be payable on July 22. This dividend represents a distribution of £2OOO to the shareholders, which makes a total distribution of £39,000 paid in dividends since operations commenced. Transfer books will be closed from July 15 to July 22, both days inclusive.
