Mrs E. C. Holmes, Featherston, is visiting Wellington. Mr and Mrs E. Croft, who have been on a visit to Masterton and Westmere, returned to Lower Hutt today. Mrs V. E. Donald, Lansdowne, Masterton, is visiting her daughter. Mrs A. G. Mitchell. Levin. Miss Agnes Corrigan, of Wellington, is staying with her sister, Mrs P. Moynahan, Pahiatua. Mr and Mrs R. Simpson, of Christchurch, who have been visiting Masterton, left today on their return home. The death occurred on Wednesday at Martinborough of Mrs Olive Jane McFern, wife-of Mr Stanley McFern, of Oxford Street, at the age of 33 years. Mrs R. G. Kain, mother of the late “Cobber” Kain, and her daughter Judy, have arrived safely in England, according to a cable received privately in Wellington yesterday. The following is a list of Masterton candidates who were successful or partially successful in the recent State examination for pupil nurses. The names are shown in alphabetical order and P.P. after a name means partial pass:—C. C. Burrows (P.P.), M. J. Fox, K. M. B. Marven tP.P.); N. R. Pearson, N. H. Roberts.
