WANGAEHU SOCIAL CLUB

ENJOYABLE CARD EVENING. PROCEEDS FOR RED CROSS FUNDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) An enjoyable evening was held on Monday last in the Wangaehu school There was a good attendance of local residents. Progressive 500 was played and some keenly contested games ensued. The club was fortunate in having the loan of two electric heaters, which warmed the room very effectively. The winners were: Men. Mr J. M. James: ladies. Miss McFarlane. Each received a prize. Supper was served by the ladies present. The evening closed with a dance and the singing of the National Anthem. The Red Cross funds will benefit to the extent of £2 10s as a result of this effort.
