« WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION INTER-CLUB MATCH. MASTERTON BEAT RED STAR. The Wairarapa Badminton Association’s B grade inter-club competition was advanced a further stage when Masterton beat Red Star by 7 matches 154 points to 1 match 112 points last night. St Matthew's, with a match to play against Martinborough, remains the only team without a loss. Details of the match are as follow. Masterton players being mentioned first in each instance: — Combined doubles: Miss N. Rishworth and N. Faulknor beat Miss U. Holtham and F. Roff, 21-8; Miss E. Madsen and B. M. Hurley beat Mrs Dixon and G. B. Peterson 21-12; Miss N. Yates and E. Holmwood beat Miss N. Dixon and W. Stilburn 21-18; Mrs P. Feltham and C. Faulknor beat Miss V. Watson and B. Wilmshurst 21-19. Men's doubles: Messrs Hurley and Faulknor beat Roff and Peterson 21-16: Holmwood and C. Faulknor beat Stilburn and Wilmshurst 21-14. Women's doubles: Misses Rishworth and Yates beat Misses Holtham and Watson, 15-9; Mrs Feltham and Miss Madsen lost to Mrs Dixon and Miss Dixon. 13-15.
