PAPER CHASE CLUB AN ENJOYABLE RUN. (“Times-Age" Special.) The Wairarapa Paper Chase Club. held a run on Mr J. A. Beveridge's property on Saturday afternoon, when, owing to the unfavourable weather, the attendance was much smaller than usual. However, the gathering was of an enjoyable nature. The competition was won by Mrs Russell McLeod, with Mr P. Tilson second, and Mr E. Jacobsen third. GARDEN CIRCLE MONTHLY COMPETITIONS. The monthly meeting of the Gai den Circle was held at the residence of Mrs J. J. Cotter when there was a good attendance of members. A competition in which members guessed the names of various leaves of plants proved most interesting, and was won by Mrs Boyd. The monthly competitions were won as follow: —Best flower in garden: Mrs Boyd, 1; Mrs Pressing, 2; Mrs Boyd, 3. Roses: Mrs Williamson, 1. Shrubs: Mrs Pryor, 1. GOLF STABLEFORD BOGEY. In a Stableford bogey handicap played on Saturday, the best cards handed in were:—Ladies: Mrs Charles, 7, 18. 25; Mrs Baker, 6, 18, 24; Mrs Caseley. 5 18 23 Men: —Senior: H. Harvey, 31, 4, 35: G. McLean, 22. 12, 34. Junior: L. Chapman, 20. 15, 35; A. F. Harding, 17, 17, 34. Points scored in the Campbell Siever’s Memorial Cup: L. Chapman, 3; H. Harvey, 2; G. McLeod, i; A. F. Harding, J. Soldiers’ Parcels. The Patriotic Committee has packed and forwarded 25 parcels for soldiers from residents of the Featherston County and Martinborough Borough, the majority being from the borough. There are still some 17 parcels to be made up to fill the quota allotted to this district.
