ON RETURN TO BERLIN GOEBBELS ENJOINS SCENES OF JOY. “OLD FRANCE" DESTROYED. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) BERLIN, July 6. Hitler will return from the front this afternoon after an absence of eight weeks. Elaborate preparations have been made for his reception. The German news agency states that Dr Goebbels issued a proclamation in which he said “The Fuehrer has been crowned by the most glorious victory in German history. He has been with his High Command in the West since the beginning of the offensive on May 10 whence he prepared and carried out the onslaught which was to destroy the old France.

“Today he will arrive at Annhalter station. Cries of joy from a hundred thousand throats will show the immense gratitude of the nation. Our whole city must be a sea of faces. All factories and shops will close excep* food shops and the armament ant other vital industries. Ringing o' bells will accompany the Fuehrer during his drive through the capital.” A later message states that Hitlei arrived, and was met by General Goering, Herr Hess. Dr Goebbels and others. He drove lb the Chancellery where he appeared on the balcony while a crowd sang "We march against England.”
