AIR AMBULANCES

PRESENTED BY GIRL GUIDES. FURTHER EMPIRE DONATIONS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 6. The Girl Guides of the Empire have donated £15,000 to the R.A.F. to buy and equip two air ambulances. Further Empire donations to the war effort are reported. Southern Rhodesia has sent a cheque for £6500 toward the purchase of training aircraft for the R.A.F. Kenya has sent £lOO,OOO, representing the first instalment from the Central War Fund, and Trinidad has started a fund for the purchase of aircraft for the defence of Britain. Already £42,000 has been received from the Trinidad fund.
