President Roosevelt and Mr J. A. Farley (chairman of the Democratic National Committee) conferred for two hours. The President apparently revealed his plans for the first time and pledged Mr Farley to secrecy. Mr Farley said: “The President was extremely frank with, me and I was frank with him. I am thoroughly aware of what he has in mind, but am not at liberty to speak. Only the President can speak on that subject. The Democratic Party Convention meets a week hence. Meanwhile a powerful movement to draft the President for a third term is gathering i force.
