GUN DOGS
WAIRARAPA CLUB ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Gun Dog Club was held recently in the Y.M.C.A. rooms, Masterton, when there was an excellent attendance of members. Mr W. Harding presided in the absence of Major J. C. Holmes, who is on war service. It was resolved that the annual meeting of the club be held between the dates March 5 and 25 of each year, and that the financial year end on March 1. The election of officers for the year 1940-41 resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr C. E. Grey; president. Mr W. Harding; deputy-chairman. Mr J. Bouzaid; vice-presidents. Messrs G. Vincent (Carterton). W. H. Trengrove (Featherston). A. Neish. T. Peet. A. Mclvor (Featherston), C. Larsen (Carterton). Dr G. F. V. Anson (Lower Hutt), R. F. R. Beetham, L. Meredith, Donald McKenzie; lion secretary, Mr G. F. Birk-,, ett; hon treasurer. Mr M. A. Rawlins; delegate to N.Z. Gun Dog conference. Mr h. V. Mason: general committee. Messrs R. V. Mason. W. O. Wilton. V. Wright, A. Mclvor. H. 'Smith; hon auditor. Mr D. B. Curry, A.P.A., N.Z. The meeting decided to re-draft and submit for adoption to a special general meeting the rules and constitution to govern the club. The following new members were elected: Messrs D. P. Donald, Neil Harding, P. F. Churcher. E. A. Nutt- S. D. Geary. It was decided that the Wairarapa Gun Dog Club apply to the New Zealand executive for permission to hold the North Island championship at Masterton this year, the date to bo fixed later. GENERAL MEETING. RULES AND CONSTITUTION ADOPTED. At a subsequent special general meeting the rules and constitution were confirmed and adopted. Mr R. V. Mason was thanked for his assistance in re-drafting the same. It. was decided, when the question of remits to the New Zealand conference were being considered, that the Wairarapa delegate be asked to support tiie continuation of the holding of championship trials during the war. During the coming season lectures by senior judges will be given at the completion of trials undertaken by the club. The judge selected for the North Island championships at Mastertcn was Mr Pi. V. Mason, of Masterton. Cn Sunday at Mrs Wardell's property, the club will hold its opening trial liir the 1940-41 season. Mr W. Hardingi will adjudicate, and with him will be! Mr R.
