A TEA DISH

SAVOURY RICE. Boil 2 cups rice in plenty of boiling salted water for 20 minutes. Drain well. Melt 2 tablespoons lard or bacon fat in a pan, add 4 chopped onions, and fry until browned and cooked. Now add 2 chopped green peppers (capsicums), cook a little longer, then add 6 tomatoes peeled and cut into thick slices, 11b pork sausages boiled, peeled and sliced, a little chopped bacon or ham if liked, pepper and salt to taste. Fry all together for about 15 minutes, then add rice and cook slowly for 1 hour.
