Mrs E. Manners is a guest at the Hotel Midland, Masterton, today. Mrs Norman Beetaham of Masterton will leave this week on a visit to Auckland. Miss M. Isaacs, Wellington, was a guest recently at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton. Mrs David JWcNeur, of Lansdowne, is at present staying with her sister,. Mrs E. J. Dash, of Christchurch. i Mrs M. Bryant, Wellington, stayed at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton, i recently. Miss Mulvey, who has been the guest of Mrs A. F. Carstens, of Essex Street, Masterton, has returned to New Plymouth. Mrs Edgar Hornblow, Hataitai, was •the guest of her sister, Mrs L. B. Cross, Church Street, Masterton, for the weekend. Miss Mulvey, formerly of Masterton, won first place in a piano solo and also in the principal piano solo at the Nelson musical competitions. News have been received in Carterton of the death of Mrs D. G. Sustins at St Albans, Christchurch. Deceased was well known in Carterton where her husband was postmaster during the last war. She helped in many ways in war work from 1914 to 1918. Mr and Mrs W. Simpson, Short Street, Masterton, recently celebrated their golden wedding with a family reunion and a gathering of old friends. A very enjoyable time was spent. Among the guests from beyond the Wairarapa were Mr and Mrs R. Simpson (Christchurch) and Mr and Mrs E. Croft (Lower Hutt). Mr and Mrs W. Simpson were farming at Matahiwi for a number of years prior to coming to Masterton to reside.
