COOL STORAGE

PROBLEM TO BE DISCUSSED. CAPACITY OF FREEZING WORKS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. "As a result of present war conditions, the question of the cool storage accommodation at freezing works throughout the Dominion has been discussed at recent meetings of the NewZealand Meat Producers’ Board,” says a statement issued by the board last night. "During the last few years, oui meat exports have been gradually increasing. and though a certain amount of extra storage has been provided, it has not been commensurate with the additional kill, and under present abnormal conditions, the matter has been giving considerable anxiety to the board. "Having regard to the importance of having adequate cool storage, it has now been decided by the Primary Industries Controller to call a meeting of all freezing companies, to be held in Wellington next Wednesday, Julv 10. “In the opinion of the board, nothing could be more disastrous to the farming community than the inability to kill their fat stock owing to freezing works' cool stores being congested."
