TE ORE ORE
FARM PRODUCTION LOCAL COMMITTEE SET UP. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr J. M. James presided over a large attendance of settlers at a meeting held at the Te Ore Ore School last night and convened by Mr R. E. Gordon Lee, chairman of the Masterton County Council, to stress the need for an increase in farm production. Mr James outlined the proposals, and those present odered their full cooperation. Several farmers stated that they had ground lying idle which they could put under the plough. A representative of the Maori settlers spoke on similar lines. Mi- Lee gave a general summary of the scheme and was accorded a hearty vole of thanks for his address. The following district committee was set up: Messrs R. E. Gordon Lee (chairman), F. Shaw. R. King, J. H. Griffin (representing the Soldiers' Settlement); and a representative of the Maori settlers. A similar meeting will be held in the Wangaehu School on Saturday night, when Mr James will address settlors.
