TROOPS OVERSEAS
NEED FOR CORRECT ADDRESS. REMINDER BY POST OFFICE. Due to the non-inclusion of the Echelon—First or Second as the case may be —in the address, the Post Office is experiencing difficulty in correctly sorting correspondence for members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas. The omission of the Echelon number may result in correspondence being despatched to the wrong country, involving long delay in delivery. The number of the Echelon is particularly necessary on correspondence for members of Divisional Units, namely, Divisional Signals, Divisional Ammunition Company, Divisional Petrol Company, etc., because in such cases there is no other indication of the Echelon to which the soldier is attached. The following are specimen addresses for members of the First and Second Echelons, respectively: — 5001 Private J. Brown, D Company, 19th Wellington Rifle Battalion, First Echelon Overseas. 12625 Private H. Jones, C Company, 21st Auckland Rifle Battalion, Second Echelon Overseas.
