ARRIVAL IN BRITAIN WELCOME REINFORCEMENT. STATEMENT BY AVAR SECRETARY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.48 a.m.) RUGBY, July 2. The Secretary for War (Mr Anthony Eden) told the House of Commons that units of the Polish and Czech armies had arrived in Britain and were being reorganised. These units were very welcome reinforcements in the struggle against the common enemy. Informing the House of Commons that all men registered for military service up to the end of May had now been called up, with the exception of a few special categories, Mr Eden said the intake was being further accelerated, and this would apply to those age groups now registering. He declined to accept a suggestion by a member who believed that a seaborne invasion of Britain on a serious scale was a remote contingency, that the policy in respect of enrolment lor military training should be reviewed.
