BRITISH ORPHANS

yADOPTION & GUARDIANSHIP SCHEME. MONDAY NEXT LAST DAY FOR OFFERS. Some eighty offers to adopt or assume guardianship of British orphans have been made by Wairarapa residents under the scheme organised by a committee of which Mrs R. Page is chairman. Further offers of adoption and guardianship are still coming in, but Monday next has been fixed as the last day on which offers will be received. This scheme is entirely separate and distinct from the plans now being made by the Government to bring British children to New Zealand for the duration of the war.
