MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. There was an excellent attendance at the weekly meeting of the Mastertor, Esperanto Club last evening. Mr A. G Wiltshire presided. Visitors to the club were Mr and Mrs Morrison, of Wellington. who conveyed the greetings of the Miramar Esperanto Society. Correspondence in Esperanto presented by tlie secretary. Mr W. H. King included the official organ of the Universal Esperanto Association (Geneva) and a 70-page brochure detailing the programmes of the Rome Radio station. The secretary mentioned that the publication would no doubt be the last to be received from Italy until the cessation of hostilities and that Italy had always been particularly favourable towards the adoption of the international language. The usual tuition period extended over an hour, during which two classes continued their respective studies under the guidance of Messrs Wiltshire and King. The secretary demonstrated on the blackboard several Hungarian proverbs in Esperanto, the various associated substantives being subsequently utilised as subjects for short impromptu talks in which all members participated. The final item was contributed by Mr H. F. Franks who gave an. interesting demonstration of the "Che" (direct) method of Esperanto teaching.
