FEATHERSTON
RAINFALL FOR JUNE (“Times-Age” Special.) There were 13 wet days in Featherston during June. The total rainfall was 2.62 inches, the maximum being 55 points on June 30. In Juno, 1939, 5.70 inches of rain fell. HOCKEY CLUB DANCE PRESENTATION TO SOLDIER. The Hockey Club dance held on Saturday night was well attended and was thoroughly enjoyed. The music was supplied by Mr V. Boyd, and Mr Staples was M.C. During the evening the captain of the club. Miss N. Hatton, presented Private N. Nix with an eversharp pencil from the club. After having been accorded musical honours Private Nix suitably replied. The ladies' committee provided supper. The evening was brought to a conclusion with the singing of Auld Lang Syne. Clothing for Refugees. A box of clothing for refugees was dispatched yesterday by the sub-com-mittee to the headquarters of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild. Training Camp. The Tauherenikau Military Training Camp is full again. Vital Statistics. In Featherston in June 5 births, 1 death and 1 marriage were registered.
