ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF’S

SERVICES.

IN DISTRICT WAR EFFORT.

An offer of assistance by the Masterton County Council to meet war requirements for increased production was accepted with acclamation at yesterday’s meeting of the Wairarapa More Production Committee.

The County Clerk, Mr J. C. D. Mackley, wrote as follows to the chairman of the committee: “Realising that the services given by the members of your committee, in an endeavour to assist the effort being made by Nev/ Zealand in general and the Wairarapa district in particular, to increase primary production to ensure that Great Britain receives sufficient 'food supply for the duration of the war are voluntary, I desire on behalf, of the administrative staff of the Masterton County Council to offer, as its personal contribution towards that effort, any service that can be rendered to assist your committee in the task that confronts it. The entire personnel of the administrative staff of the council are prepared to co-operate by working an unlimited number of hours on any day during any week for that purpose and if there is any service that can be rendered following the decisions made by you)’ committee today, I will be glad to discuss the matter with you at the close of the meeting.”
