WEEK OF PENANCE
CATHOLICS IN ENGLAND. CARDINAL KINSLEY’S CALL. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, Juno 28. Cardinal Kinsley announced a week of penance and prayer for Roman Catholics in England, from July 7 to July 14. During the week Catholics will make a daily attendance of mass and a denial of all luxuries and recreations. The money thus saved will be applied to the benefit of the wounded. Declaring the solemncss of the hour. Cardinal Kinsley said the nation had been serving false gods and had neglected social justice and the priority of family life. He denounced birth control and easier divorce.
