GOLF COMPETITION BEST LADIES' CARDS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The best cards handed in for the ladies’ L.G.U. competition held by the Martinborough Club on Saturday were: Miss Harvey 12 down; Mrs Caseley 12 down, Mrs Baker 13 down. The draw for the stableford bogey for next Saturday is as follows: Mrs Charles v Mrs Caseley, Mrs Marflett v Mrs McConnell, Mrs Knutson v Miss Harvey, Mrs Baker v Mrs Moore, Mrs Griffiths v Mrs Knell, Miss Blundell v Mrs Parsons, Miss Stewart v Miss Macdonald. Fall of Snow. Yesterday there was a heavy fall of snow on the higher levels. The hills surrounding Martinborough are heavily coated with snow today. Hockey. The Excelsior and Martinborough ladies’ teams met on the Martinborough ground on Saturday afternoon, when a fast and open game resulted in a win for Excelsior by 7 goals to 1. The visiting team possessed too much experience of the game for the Martinborough girls, and made more use of their opportunities when shooting at the goal.
