AUSTRALIAN SHEARERS
PERMISSION TO REMIT FUNDS. LAST YEAR’S CONCESSION CONTINUED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Each year it has been necessary for New Zealand sheepowners and shearing contractors to engage a number of Australian shearers and last season special arrangements were made, enabling these men to remit their earnings to Australia. The Minister of Finance stated today that the same concessions as were granted last year will apply for the coming season. Shearers may remit reasonable amounts during their stay in New Zealand for family maintenance, and any balance remaining on their departure may be taken with them. Applications for remittance permits will, for the purpose of record. be required to be lodged with the Reserve Bank.
