MANY CLASHES
RUSSIAN AND RUMANIAN FORCES OFFICIALLY REPORTED FROM BUCHAREST. NUMEROUS CASUALTIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, June 30. It is officially reported from Bucharest that clashes occurred between Russian troops marching in and the retiring Rumanian armies. It is authoritatively stated that the clashes were serious, causing many casualties. CAUSE OF INCIDENTS RUSSIANS ADVANCE AHEAD OF TIMETABLE. (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, June 30. The British United Press Bucharest correspondent states that the RussianRumanian clashes were due to the speeding up the Russian advance, resulting in Soviet troops catching up with the-Rumanian forces. A Rumanian general staff communique says: “The Russians went beyond the terms of the agreement arid passed our retiring troops, thus causing local incidents,” and added that the Rumanian forces were continuing their withdrawal.
