MAURICEVILLE
RED CROSS SOCIETY LOCAL BRANCH FORMED. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting was held in the Mauriceville Hall to form a centre of the Red Cross Society. Mr Norman Lee, of Masterton was asked to conduct the meeting. A committee was formed, the following being elected. Patron. Mrs E. Cheetham; chairwoman, Mrs A. Forsberg; secretary, Mrs I. Cameron, treasurer, Mrs F. Pain; representatives from each district. Mangamahoe, Miss G. Heckler, Mauriceville West., Mrs Trass. Ihuraua, Mrs E. Dagg. Mauriceville East, Mrs J. Milner. Euchre Tourney. A euchre tournament was held at the home of Mr and Mrs R. Palmer. Mauriceville West, in aid of the Croquet Club funds. The prizes were won at follow: Ladies, Mrs H. Trass. Junr: men. Mr H. Mortensen: consolation. Miss R. Mortensen and Mr M. Condon. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr;. Palmer for the use of her home. Personal. Mr A. Goodgame has returned from a visit to Wanganui. Mr and Mrs F. Scherf and family have left Mauriceville for their new home at Inglewood.
