RUSSIAN OCCUPATION OF BESSARABIA TROOPS CLOSELY FOLLOW ULTIMATUM. WITHOUT WAITING FOR KING'S REPLY. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, June 27. Soviet troops tonight are marching into Bessarabia. Their entry into the territory which Rumania took from Russia after the last war was within a few hours of the delivery of the ultimatum. It appears that they crossed the frontier even before King Carol had formally accepted the ultimatum. REPORTS TO ATTACHES HUGE CONCENTRATION OF SOVIET TROOPS. (Received This Day. 10.55 a.m.) LONDON. June 27. The Associated Press of America Bucharest correspondent states that Foreign military attaches have received reports that huge squadrons of Russian warplanes flew over Bessarabia and Bukowina, and that there are heavy concentrations of Russian troops, tanks and artillery along the Dniester River and the old Polish-Rumanian frontier. The Rumanian War Ministry issued an order tantamount to a general mobilisation. It is learned that Russia has also demanded control of the ports of Galati and Braila, which would permit Russia to dominate • Danubian navigation. Berlin sources declare that Germany is “disinterested” in the situation. GERMAN REPORT CONTROL OF DANUBIAN PORT. (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) LONDON, June 27. A German wireless message stated that Russia gave Rumania until 10 p.m. to agree to give up all Rumanian territory which is mainly inhabited by Ukrainians, as well as the control of Constanza and the Danubian port of Culcea. HUNGARY ALERT INTEREST IN CURRENT EVENTS. MEETING OF CABINET. (Received This Day. 10.40 a.m.) LONDON. June 27. A Budapest message states that Cabinet is discussing events in Rumania, and the march of Russian troops into Bessarabia, after Rumania’s acceptance of the Soviet ultimatum. RUMANIAN ARMY MASSING NEAR HUNGARIAN FRONTIER. (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) LONDON, June 27. The Associated Press of America Bucharest correspondent says it is of-, flcially learned that the Rumanian army is concentrating in Transylvania, near the Hungarian frontier. LETTER FROM HITLER ATTITUDE OF HUNGARY PRAISED. ASSURANCE OF REWARD. (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 27. The Associated Press of America Budapest correspondent says Hitler sent a letter to Count Teleki declaring that Hungary’s territorial claims would be satisfied. He expressed gratification at Hungary's attitude, “which would be rewarded.”
