A DINNER DISH

A SAVOURY MACARONI. Boil lib macaroni (short variety) in plenty of boiling water until tender; drain well and place a layer in a wellgreased fireproof dish. Sprinkle with a thick layer of cheese, then a layer of chopped peanuts and a little pepper. Cover the peanuts with a layer of skinned and sliced tomatoes, cut not too thinly, sprinkle with salt and pepuer, ; |-clove garlic cut very, very fine, then a layer of sliced onion fried a little in butter or margarine, but not brown. Continue in this way until dish is full. Cover top with white breadcrumbs, dot with butter, and bake in a moderate oven for about 45 minutes or until well browned.
