WEDDING

MOR ICE—STROUTS. A wedding of widespread interest took place on Saturday in Christ Church. Wanganui, between Charlotte June, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. M. Strouts, Wanganui, and Donald Campbell, youngest son of Mr and Mrs F. Morice, Gisborne. The Ven Archdeacon J. R. Young officiated and Mr F. Wentworth Slater played the organ. The church was decorated with gold shaded flowers by Miss Suzanne Izard qnd helpers.

The bride, who formerly resided in Masterton and was a pupil at St Matthew's Collegiate School for girls, was escorted by her father. She was gowned in pale gold brocaded lame, fashioned on graceful lines. The bodice featured a heart-shaped neckline and a gather corsage, which formed a bustle bow at the back. The sleeves were puffed at the shoulders, and fitting to the wrist, and tiny self-covered buttons trimmed the back of the bodice from neck to waist. The full skirt fell in rich folds to form a long oval train, and her pale gold tulle veil was held to the head by a coronet of orange blossom and seed pearls. She carried an unusually fashioned bouquet of lemon-tinted freezias, orchids, hellebore. and maidenhair fern with deep gold metallic ribbon. Her train was held by a cousin, K. Mantell, Wellington. The bridesmaids were Mrs H. G. Kemp, Gisborne, sister, and Misses S. Nancarrow and M. Peck. They wore frocks of corn-shaded ripple chiffon over darker toning taffeta, and the bodices were gathered, and with fine triple shoulder straps formed heartshaped necklines. The elbow-length puffed sleeves were gathered into a scalloped band, and the full skirts fell from softly gathered corsages. The frocks were trimmed with self-covered buttons from neck to waist, and from the shoulders graceful oval capes fell to just below the waists. The trainbearer’s frock was styled in similar lines, but with a round neckline edged with a tiny gathered frill, and without the cape. The attendants wore on their heads tiaras of tinted freezias and narcissi, and carried bouquets of gold tinted freezias and narcissi, and creamy roses.

The best man was Mr John Willock. Gisborne, and the groomsmen were Messrs David Orton, Wanganui, and H. G. Kemp, Gisborne. The ushers were Messrs A. Saunders and B. Grummitt.

A reception was held at Forster's Hotel. For travelling the bride wore a striped American suit in brown and London tan shades, under a camel hair swagger coat. Her hat was a brown velvet toque and her shoes and purse were of crocodile skin.
