LATER DAY SAINTS INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints held its annual meeting for the installation of- the officers of the various organisations for the ensuing year. The president of the district (Elder E. Taurau) presided. The following officers were elected: —President of the branch, Waika Enoka; first counsellor, J. Riwai; second counsellor, M. Waiwera; secretary, Mrs Hawkins; assistant secretary, A. Te Maari; Board member. Waaka Enoka. Sunday School presidency. J. Riwai; first counsellor, A. Te Maari; second counsellor, M. Waiwera; district secretary, Mrs Hawkins; assistant secretary. A. Te Maari; primary presidency, M. Te Maari Junr.; first counsellor, Mrs H. Riwai; second counsellor, Mrs H. Matenga; secretary, Mrs J. Cowan; Y.M.M.1.A., Mrs Cowan, president; first counsellor. Mrs Hawkins;, second counsellor’ and secretary, Mrs Te Maari; M.M.1.A.. A. Te Maari, president; J. Taurau, first counsellor; J. Kohai, second counsellor; J. Carter, secretary; Relief Society. Mrs Carter, president; Mrs T. Te Maari, first counsellor; R. Enoka, second counsellor; Mrs Pearce, secretary.

At a meeting of the M.I.A. held subsequent to the election of officers it was resolved that the annual Green and Gold Ball be held on Wednesday, August 21, subject to that date not clashing with a similar ball held at Dannevirke, or any of the local functions. It was unanimously decided to devote the net proceeds to patriotic purposes.

The Queen contest in connection with the ball, will also be proceeded with and those organisations who intend running a candidate will have the option of donating the gross funds less a small deduction received by their respective candidates to whatever patriotic fund they desire. Red Cross Appeal. The secretary of the Women’s Institute desires to acknowledge with thanks a donation of £1 Is from Mr Seaward towards the Red Cross Appeal held last Saturday evening. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs Tot Burling and family are spending a holiday in Napier. Mr A. Linton, member of the Dairy Board, who has been in the South Island. has returned home. Mrs G. Sutherland, who has been visiting her parents at Hastings, has returned home.

Mr R. McGregor has been visiting friends in the district.

Mrs Murphy, who had been staying here with her mother, has returned to Masterton.
