The text of the fourteenth communique from the general headquarters of the Italian armed forces is:—“At 1.35 a.m., following upon signature to an armistice convention, hostilities ceased between Italy and France in all sectors of the war, both on the mainland of Italy and overseas. “One of our submarines sank an enemy ship of 8.000 tons. “One of our submarines in the Red Sea has failed to return to its base. “In an enemy air raid on Tripoli, no objective of military interest was hit, but bombs fell on houses in the old Jewish quarter, causing about twenty casualties. In an enemy air raid on Cagliari, in Sardinia, during which thirty bombs were dropped, there was no damage to property, but a few persons were wounded. Two enemy attempts on Palermo were driven off by our pursuit planes. “The war continues against Britain and will continue until victory is won.”
