FAULKNOR WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. (“Times-Age" Special.) The annual golf tournament organised by the Tinui Golf Club was held during the weekend. There was a large number of entries, all clubs in the surrounding district being represented. The greens were in great order and the fairways were carrying a good sole of grass, enabling the players to return some good scores. The best card handed in for the qualifying round was that of C. Faulknor (Masterton), 70, this being a course record. The results of the various events are as follow: — Tinui Championship. First round: C. Faulknor beat J. Thornton; L. Connolly beat N. The proceeds of the tournament will be given to local patriotic funds and the committee is most grateful to all who attended and made the tournament the success it was. The proceeds from the tournament amounted to £lO 13s and donations and the sale of golf balls brought in £l3. making a total of £23 13s.
