The third round of the Stableford competition held on Saturday afternoon, resulted as follows: —A. White, 21. 12. 33: W. Rowles, 30, 2. 32: I. Donald, 18. 14, 32; G. O'Neale, 28, 3. 31; H. Lovegrove, 17, 14. 31; J. McCallum, 23, 8, 31; H. Neilson. 18, 12, 30. A Splendid Response. Tn the appeal for railway men for services overseas, recently made by the Government, a splendid response has come from Cross Creek, 19 men having offered their services. Hockey Match. In a hockey match on Saturday. Featherston beat Martinborough at Martinborough by 4 goals to 1. Soldiers' Dance. The dance held by the Patriotic Society in the Anzac Hall on Saturday night for the men in camp was a most successful one. Men were present from the various camps, including the Air Force. The soldiers and relatives expressed their appreciation of what had been done for their entertainment. Miss Card was hostess and was untiring in her efforts to see that the soldiers spent an enjoyable time. Mr G. Hyland was M.C., aild the music was supplied by Tc Tait’s Orchestra. Supper was provided by an energetic committee of ladies. •
