The “Daily Telegraph's” Jerusalem correspondent states that anti-aircraft guns went into action against a plane which appeared over Haifa. The plane was possibly an Italian reconnaissance machine from Rhodes. Palestine has been placed on a full war footing, with a decree authorising the mobilisation of all human and material resources. The coastal defences have been permanently manned and members of the Fifth Column have been cleaned up.
