NOMINATIONS SUBMITTED TO SENATE MR WOODRING’S LETTER OF RESIGNATION. SAID TO BE EXTREMELY PERSONAL. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, June 20. President Roosevelt has acted to form a Coalition Cabinet and is submitting to' the Senate the nominations of the Republicans, Colonel Frank Knox, as Secretary of the Navy, and Mr Henry L. Stimson, as Secretary of War.
Simultaneously the White House announced that Mr H. H. Woodring has resigned, the portfolio of Secretary of War, to be made effective on Senate confirmation of his successor’s nomination. It was added that Mr Woodring’s letter of resignation, was so personal that it is not being published. Mr Charles Edison’s resignation, as Acting-Secretary of the Navy will be effective on June 24.
