BORDEAUX BOMBED
DAMAGE TO CITY AND DOCKS. PARACHUTISTS ARRESTED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, June 20. There were 60 casualties in the German air raids on Bordeaux last night. Hundreds of high-explosive and incendiary bombs were dropped by 100 planes in a series of four raids starting at 1.30 a.m.. and it was second only to the attack on Paris as the most severe of the war. Damage was done to the city, dock and airport. Five parachutists, who were dropped under cover of the darkness, were arrested.
