YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB MONTHLY MEETING LAST NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The -monthly meeting of the Martinborough branch of the Young Farmers’ Club was held last night, there being a good attendance. Mr A. Welch presided. Correspondence was read from the general secretary of the Union requesting the names of enlisted members to be forwarded. Mr N. Lamont wrote regarding the preparation of radio talks. It was decided to hold the competition for the Campbell-Sievers Memorial Cup at next meeting, and Mr W. B. Martin was appointed judge. Mr Busch was elected to a vacancy on the committee. The question of holding the annual dance was discussed, members expressing the opinion that such, if held', should be for a patriotic purpose. It was finally decided to approach the Red Cross Society in connection with a joint effort. It was resolved to make application through the district executive for a lecture to members by Mr Freeman. At the conclusion of the business, Mr E. C. Sadd gave a talk on “Banking" which was listened to with interest. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the speaker. Red Cross Appeal. Collections to date in connection with the Red Cross Appeal now amount to £9lO 2s 6d. The copper trail has reached £2O 2s 6d —186 yards.
