PETROL RATIONING
INTRODUCTION IN AUSTRALIA. IN ABOUT SIX WEEKS’ TIME. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 1.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The Minister of Supply, Mr Stewart, announced that the Federal Ministry had decided to introduce a petrol rationing scheme. Details are being worked out. Rationing will become effective in about six weeks. The Government aims at a thirty-three per cent reduction in petrol consumption.
