ENEMY ALIENS
DEMAND FOR INTERNMENT. R.S.A. RESOLUTION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Dominion executive committee of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association passed the following resolution last night: “That the Government be urged in the interest of national safety to intern immediately all enemy aliens who have arrived in the Dominion from an enemy country within the past five years. We say all enemy aliens because it seems impossible to differentiate; this resolution to be sent to the Prime Minister and the Minister for Justice. The executive also forwarded the following cablegram to the French War Ministry: “Remembering with pride the valour of our French comrades in the Great War, the thoughts of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association are with you in your epic struggle for civilisation.”
