Mr and Mrs D. McLeod, Trentham.' are staying at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton. A visitor to Greytown is Mrs L. Udy. of Wanganui, who is staying with her mother, Mrs A. B. Balfour. Mrs White and Mr James White. Wellington, were guests yesterday at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton. The Rev. Mother Gabriel, of the Little Company of Mary, has returned to Wellington from a visit to Australia.

The death occurred in Wellington yesterday of Mrs Jane Small PrainAmbler, for more than 50 years a resident of Levin. Born in Lanesfield, Victoria, 83 years ago, she came to New Zealand with her parents, Mr and Mrs Alexander Prain, who settled in Dunedin in the early seventies. In 1888 she was married in Oamaru to Mr S. Ambler, who predeceased her some 25 years ago.

Major Florence Birks, formerly women’s social secretary in New Zealand for the Salvation Army, has returned to Wellington after four years in Australia to take up the position of principal of the Salvation Army Training College. Major A. Smith, who has been secretary of the Young People’s Movement in Newcastle, has ' returned to Wellington to take the position of chief side officer of the training garrison.
