MEETING NEXT WEDNESDAY EVENING. ADDRESS-IN-REPLY SPEAKERS. • (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. . The Address-in-Reply debate was opened in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon, and after speeches by the mover and seconder, Mr Moncur (Government. Rotorua) and Mr Skinner (Government. Motueka) respectively. the House adjourned till Wednesday night. Because of the late hour at which the House rose on Thursday, the usual Friday morning sitting was not held. Just before the adjournment was taken a statement was made by the Leader of the Opposition. Mr Hamilton, in which he said the present disunited conditions of the country could not be allowed to drag on without very serious effects to whatever war effort the Dominion had to make. The Prime Minister said the opinion of the Government was that it had taken the light course in its war effort. It desired, however. to have the assistance of any section of the community that could help. The House rose at 5 p.m. till 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
