T. R. GEORGE’S TEAM

ARRIVAL AT OPAKI MANY WELL KNOWN RACEHORSES. OVER FIFTY NOW TRAINING IN MASTERTON. T. R. George, one of the most prominent trainers in the Dominion, has taken up his quarters at Opaki, having arrived during the week with eighteen horses and another three horses will be brought to Opaki in a few days. This announcement follows on previous references made in these columns to T. R. George bringing his team to Masterton. In some not very well informed quarters the statement which we printed was denied, it being stated, that the popular trainer had no intention of opening a stable at Opaki. This, of course, has always been contrary to fact, and Mr George’s team is now “in residence” at Opaki, where he has also a stud farm in the Upper Plain area.

There will be now aboiit fifty horses in training at Opaki, and this old training ground is once more on its way to become as noted as it was in pre-war day for the quality of its horses, and the skill displayed in training.

The following will be horses Mr George will have at Opaki: Beau Vite, Lady Motava, Foxbridge filly, Payroll, Lady Maana, Dunvargen, Forsake, The Whipper, Beau Coureur, De Foe colt, Galteemore, Paravoin, Beau Ciel, Dark Water, Batsham, Tamakaha, Lord Quex filly, Duncannon, Trench Law, Kevin and Orlein.
