COURSING
WAIRARAPA CLUB'S ACTIVITIES. At a well attended meeting of the Wairarapa Coursing Club committee held last night, arrangements were carried a step further to ensure that the next coursing meeting to be held on June 15 is as great a success as the big meeting held last week. A statement and balance sheet was read and it was disclosed that the events just held proved a financial success. The two stakes to-be run on June 15 are the Watson Rose Bowl event (16 dogs), and a 16 dog open event. Last year’s winner of the trophy, Mungi Taipo, has proved to be a good dog and his owners, Mesdames Riding and Jackson, of Wanganui, are defending the' rose bowl with Mosquito Kid. The open stake will be a Centennial Cup trial for those dogs running . ar Hastings from June 26 to June 29. This will be the last opportunity to give a dog a trial before the cup contest. Nominations for the Watson Rose Bowl and Open Stake close on Thursday, June 13, at 5 p.m. The draw takes place in the Y.M.C.A. at 8.30 p.m.
