WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Women's Institute was'held yesterday there being a good attendance. It was decided to send a delegate to the annual conference in Wellington. Mrs McAnulty reported on the annual meeting of the Wairarapa Federation. Demonstrations on decorative work were given by members of the Garden Circle, Mesdames Pryor, Knell, Boyd, and Watson. The competition, bowl of flowers for the dinner table, resulted: Mrs Pryor 1, Mrs Boyd 2. Red Cross Dance. A most successful dance was held in the Town Hall last night by 'the members of the local branch of the Red Cross Society, when about £29 was netted for the funds. The V.A.D.’s conducted the function, which proved most enjoyable. During the evening drawing took place for the “Florence Nightingale” doll, which was won by Diana Martin (ticket No 869). The iced cake was won by Mrs Telpha (ticket No 47). The hall had been tastefully decorated for the occasion.
