FEATHERSTON

DENTAL CLINIC ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Featherston Dental Clinic was held on Wednesday when there was a good attendance. The Rev R. S. Keenan was in the chair. After all accounts are paid the credit balance of £l6 7s remains. It was decided to have the floor covered and a cupboard installed at the surgery. A vote of thanks was accorded to Miss Dempster for her splendid work. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, the Rev R. S. Keenan; secretary, Mr'C. Ken ward; treasurer, Mr F. Hayes; committee, chairmen and secretaries of affiliated school committees, the president of the South Featherston Home and School Association, two members from the Featherston Home and School Association, and Mr Jansen and Mr N. Parker representing the Western Lake district. Personal. Mrs Jane Vile, Senr, Featherston, has just celebrated her 90th birthday. Born in England, she arrived with her parents in New Zealand in 1855. Most of her early life was spent in Greytown. In 1867 xshe’ married the late Josiah Vile and came to reside on the Rimutaka Road, Jater moving into Featherston where she has lived ever since. Of a family of 12 eight are still living. There are 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
