SUBVERSIVE ACTS
NUMBER OF PUBLIC SERVANTS DISMISSED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The removal from the Public Service of officers who are alleged to have been guilty of subversive activities has been taken in hand, and it is reported that nearly 20 officers in various State departments in Wellington have received notices of dismissal. The Public Service Commissioner. .Mr T. Mark, when interviewed yesterday, declined to make any comment on the action, except to say that he had taken it.
Reports that similar action was to be taken in other offices throughout New Zealand were neither denied nor confirmed by Mr Mark.
