NO WORK DONE AFTER 10 a.m. YESTERDAY.

(Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 3.

Beef butchers at Westfield, number-, ing about 20, at morning “smoko” to-, day, decided to cease work at 10 o’clock. Other members of the staff affected also left the premises after clearing up. Other departments are not affected.

The management stated that only 200 beasts were killed today, leaving 400 unslaughtered. They said that the butchers’ decision came as a surprise, in view of the men’s decision to reverse their original intention of having a holiday today.
